Reflection
Coming into Zobel as a transferee Grade 12 student, I did not know what
to expect. One of my first subjects that immediately made me work from
the get go was research (in a good and bad way). Sir Whiz put me into
Cjeshyl’s group, for the reason that I think they needed an extra set of
hands. So it was then that we started blending our first compost which was
banana.
It is hard for me to believe that our group went to that, to successfully
being able to defend our research. It was not an easy journey, we
wrestled through four different fruits or vegetable compost, encountering
a total of 135 kilograms worth of food waste. It was crazy, both the smell,
and the work that we successfully did.
I have huge gratitude towards Cjeshyl, the leader of our group, and our
amazing class adviser, Sir Whiz. Cjeshyl carried our group throughout the
entire implementation process, and all would not have been possible
without the guidance and support of Sir Whiz. I tried to make myself as
useful as I could, but my efforts were not nearly as huge as theirs.
Here I am now, making a reflection for my digital portfolio, very close to
ending term 2. I am so proud of my whole group, for getting through our
tough research topic. However, there is still more work to be done.
Research 3 is around the corner. All I can say, is that my group and I have
come a long way.
